Social Value collaboration continues to bear fruit

Community projects

Since the launch of our Helping Hands initiative, we have been fortunate enough to make some fantastic partnerships across the country, none more so than with Portsmouth City Council.

Helping Hands covers five main pillars of Social Value – Charity, Community, Wellness, Development and Sustainability – and provides project-specific and annual objectives for the company to achieve. This aligned us to the council’s Social Value Policy, ensuring the city is working together to build community health, wealth and resilience.

Most recently this collaboration saw us provide over £6,000 of free support to Cottage Grove School in Portsmouth. This was around 75% of their annual budget and covered a multitude of works;

  • Supplied and installed new close board fencing to secure boundary,
  • Repainted the picket fence at school entrance,
  • Removed old ply panels, secured timber fencing and then installed new ply sheets painted white so the kids could decorate them,
  • Provided two, 12-yard skips for waste removal,
  • Removed planters around the reception playground.

With Portsmouth City Council placing a focus on their Social Value Policy, we look forward to supporting them with future projects and standing alongside them to showcase the great work already undertaken. We are proud to have our Head Office in the city, and will continue to support the areas close to our offices and projects in the coming years.
