Hughes and Salvidge Partner With Health Assured

It is standard practice at Hughes and Salvidge to ensure the Health and Safety of our team, our subcontractors, and anyone else associated with, or affected by, our works, before during and after a project.

In the last decade, Hughes and Salvidge have taken huge strides to improve our Occupational Health programme, not only to ensure that we are in line with current legislation, but to go above and beyond to support and protect our employees and subcontractors.

In the last year we have appointed a Mental Health Ambassador within our team and regularly run seminars and workshops, and distribute information to keep our employees aware of how to spot signs of struggle in their colleagues and in themselves. Our Mental Health Ambassador, Lori Noble, also undertakes regular training to ensure that her knowledge of support networks and available services are current.

To support our ongoing work in this area, we have begun working alongside Health Assured, an Employee Assistance Programme that offers support to our employees and their families online, through a free app and a 24-hour phone line.

The Health Assured programme offers mental health support through on-demand videos and webinars, home life support and advice such as parenting rights and mortgage information, work life assistance including legal advice, online Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), well-being challenges, medical information and financial information and advice.

Although we have only been partnered with this programme for a few months, our team are already reaping the benefits and we have had strong and positive feedback from several members of our team.
