What Our Accreditation Certificates Mean

When choosing a demolition and decommissioning company you need to be 100% certain that they possess the necessary expertise and competency required to provide the work to the expected standard.

Hughes and Salvidge has existed for 52 years which says a lot about our credentials, but we’d never expect you to just take our word for it. During that time we have secured numerous accreditations, each a ringing endorsement of our proven abilities in the complex field of demolition and decommissioning.

We’re extremely proud of these accreditations, so much so that we have an accreditations page on our website. However, not everyone will be familiar with what some of the accreditations actually mean.

Here’s a short explanation of a few of them:

British Safety Council

Hughes and Salvidge is a fully-fledged member of the British Safety Council (BSC) which has existed since 1957 and is one of the world's leading Health and Safety organisations. BSC membership demonstrates our commitment to the very highest health, safety and environmental standards.

Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme

The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) is a pre-approval scheme allowing contractors to demonstrate they meet the required health and safety standards to potential clients. It is also designed to improve health and safety in small to medium sized businesses.

Construction Health & Safety Group

Formed in 1952, The Construction Health and Safety Group (CHSG) is a respected provider of quality training and support to construction and associated industries in the UK. It currently has around 400 members.

Construction Skills Certification Scheme

The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) is the UK construction industry’s leading skills certification scheme. Those holding a CSCS card have the required training and qualifications for the type of construction work they carry out.

So, be in no doubt at all when choosing Hughes and Salvidge that your project is in the safest of hands.
