Egg-Stra Special Effort Made For Two Portsmouth Charities
Will Spong 24th March 2016
Our now annual Easter egg charity appeal has once again proved hugely successful after an incredible 124 eggs were donated.
Established two years ago by one of our Directors, each Easter we encourage staff members to donate an Easter egg each and then split and donate the stash of eggs to local charities; the team certainly didn’t let us down!
The office also decided to donate all the money generated in their swear box, with added cash contributions from several of our site staff.
We even had generous donations from other companies within our group offering including Aasvogel and H&S Metals.
The charities chosen this year are both similarly based in Portsmouth: The Foyer Federation and The Roberts Centre.
The Foyer Federation is a not-for-profit organisation that helps to transform the circumstances of young people aged 16-25 who have faced barriers in their lives by giving them access to housing, learning, personal development, training and employment opportunities.
The Roberts Centre is an organisation with a reputation for developing innovative responses to families who are struggling to improve their family’s difficult circumstances whether from homelessness or family breakdown.
You can find out more about both charities by visiting foyer.net/foyers/portsmouth-foyer and www.robertscentre.org.uk.
We are sure you will agree that they’re very worthy causes. Both have since expressed their gratitude.
