Understanding Land Remediation
Luke Gould 29th February 2016
Amongst our many core competencies at Hughes and Salvidge is our land remediation service, something you may be less familiar with than decommissioning and demolition.
Land remediation, or environmental remediation as it is sometimes referred to, involves the intricate removal of any potentially hazardous materials, pollutants or contaminated substances from sites.
This enables contaminated sites to then be returned back into usable land suitable for redevelopment as any prior potential health threat posed to people or the environment will have been eliminated.
It is currently estimated that there are more than 400,000 hectares of contaminated land in the UK, so land remediation is very much in demand from specialists like Hughes and Salvidge.
After a thorough assessment of the affected area, we cost up the project before ensuring that any contaminated soil, groundwater or sediments are suitably treated using relevant methods and the latest technology.
We have handled land remediation projects of all sizes throughout our existence so please contact us if you need any assistance in this field.
