Demolition Of Ford Factory Attracts BBC Coverage

TV cameras arrived at the old Ford Transit van factory in Southampton last week as Hughes and Salvidge enters the final stages of demolishing the 25-acre site.

The visit from BBC South Today came after it was confirmed that commercial property specialists Mountpark had agreed to purchase the site from Ford for a reputed £20million.

Mountpark has a proven track record in delivering successful and complex development schemes throughout the UK and Europe.

Their acquisition of the site will lead to the creation of hundreds of jobs, with building work anticipated to begin in July once planning consent has been granted.

We are delighted that a new and exciting era lies ahead for the people of Southampton.

The site originally closed in 2013 after the Transit plant was relocated to Turkey.

You can read our previous blog post on this project here: Demolition of Former Ford Transit Site Underway.

As you can see from the above aerial shot taken in the past few days, we are well on course to complete the entire demolition by the beginning of this year, just as we promised the client.

If you need a trusted demolition firm this New Year that always lives up to expectations call and speak to one of our consultants.
