Power Plant Demolition Event Receives Our Backing
Will Spong 8th December 2015
As one of Europe’s leading demolition and decommissioning companies, Hughes and Salvidge is always keen to have some form of representation at key industry events.
One recently took place in Berlin, the Decommissioning & Demolition of Fossil Fuels Fired Power Plants for Utilities event, hosted at The Leonardo Royal Hotel in Alexanderplatz.
Hughes and Salvidge agreed to be Business Development sponsors for the event, organised by events’ organisers and information providers TBM Evolution.
Following the widespread closure of many fossil-fuel fired power plants in recent years due to their unprofitability, the decommissioning and demolition of them has become increasingly necessary, but few companies possess the necessary decommissioning and demolition expertise.
The event was designed to give the many Heads, Directors and Managers in attendance a thorough insight into the decommissioning and demolition of fossil-fuel fired power plants, something that can be time consuming and a costly process.
The importance of proper planning and preparation when undertaking such work was particularly stressed by the various speakers which included representatives of EDP, Endesa (Enel Group), Scottish Power, RVA Group, E.ON, GDF SUEZ ENGIE and RWE.
They will all have seen the newly designed Hughes and Salvidge banner which was specially sent over to Germany.
