Charity Begins At Home For Hughes And Salvidge

To celebrate our 50th year of operation Hughes and Salvidge are donating to charitable and worthy causes in our local community.

In late 2013 a former staff member of Hughes and Salvidge contacted us regarding the Autism Provision at Milton Park Junior School in Portsmouth. The programme was in the process of raising funds for 10 iPads and cases for the children to support their learning. Studies show that this kind of technology can enhance an autistic child’s learner journey and improve their independence in performing functional activities. Our former employee’s son attends Milton Park Federated Primary School and has benefited immensely from the programme.

At Christmas we supported the Autism Provision at Milton Park Junior School by contributing our annual Christmas card donation of £100 to their iPad fund and to continue our support for the programme Hughes and Salvidge have donated a further £1000 to the Autism Provision.

The children have been using the iPads for a few weeks now. Teacher in Charge, Philippa Pettitt says, “Thanks for all your support and for the £100 Christmas card donation, we have put the money towards our iPad fund. As you can see from the photos the children are already enjoying the iPads. Please come and visit us. I think it's good to know where your money raised is going!”
