Ways we keep our emissions down
Hughes and Salvidge have an extensive fleet of vehicles.
Aiding us in maintaining our nationwide presence. The majority of our cars are hybrid vehicles and we are working towards having a full fleet of hybrid or electric cars and vans. Our Head Office in Portsmouth has designated electric charging points.

Reduce fuel consumption
Hughes and Salvidge reduce our fuel consumption by utilising AdBlue in our machines.
Hughes and Salvidge have a core team of experienced Demolition Operatives who travel to our projects across the UK.
It is, however, important for us to find talented Operatives within the areas local to our sites and utilising our experienced and extensive nationwide supply chain is one of the ways we achieve this objective..

Aiming to off-set our Carbon Emissions is important to us.
Although planting trees doesn’t completely achieve this, it is an activity that supports the environment locally to projects, and globally. Demolition projects can sometimes require tree removal as part of the works. We aim to plant a replacement tree for any that require removal.

Upcycling
Our projects regularly come with a requirement to soft-strip a building.

The Carbon Trust is an independent, expert partner of leading organisations around the world, helping them contribute to and benefit from a more sustainable future through carbon reduction, resource efficiency strategies and commercialising low carbon technologies.
The ‘Carbon Trust Standard for Carbon’ is an independent certification which recognises organisations that successfully measure, manage and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, demonstrating leadership in their industry by making real progress year-on-year.
We achieved certification through demonstrating an absolute reduction in carbon emissions across all our operations over the previous 3 years. Find out more about the Carbon Trust on their website www.carbontrust.com
